The scene above is a Paris street scene. I love the depth and mood and nighttime lights reflecting on golden stone walls and purple sky. This puts me in the time and place of Erik, the central person in the Phantom Future series. He no doubt traveled this pathway as one of his haunts in this timeless and mysterious city.

And the Seattle skyline with its sleek, dramatic tower is a perfect metaphor for the world of the future and the hopes all people have to create a better world. This is the world of Kathryn and the Wheatons. A world of both glorious promise and ultimate challenges. These are the worlds of the past and future which fascinate me—representing not only the setting for my books, but also the ultimate challenges for humankind.

These books are the door into a world as seen through the eyes, emotions and experiences of many people, told uniquely in the present as they are experiencing it. The story begins in the future world, our world as it will become if we continue on our current path. On one hand it will be a world of wonders where time travel exists, but it is also filled with consequences from ignored challenges and unmet opportunities.

When an ultimate crisis occurs, time travel becomes the hope for creating a new path for humans to fulfill their potential. So many webs weave together to create this series of books. I hope you will decide to experience this adventure into different times and places! And of course, Erik is an integral part of the saga, being called upon to put his genius, unpredictable and dangerous as it is, to the ultimate trials facing humanity.

ABOUT MY LIFE

As for me, I am a retired attorney and author. My undergraduate degree was in Oriental Studies and history. I love history—the fascinating story of all peoples throughout time! That is why real people and facts are an important part of my books! Truth truly is stranger than fiction and affects our lives, whether we are aware it is happening or not! The currents of history—that is, what all people have done—spreads like unseen waves. So I wanted to show in the lives of the people who inhabit these books how those waves spread out to touch the shores of our lives!

I also have deep interest in alternative medicine and metaphysics which I hope to write about in other books. I’ve lived in the beautiful western United States throughout my life, from the saguaro deserts of the southwest to the Canadian winters of the north and the misty ancient forests of the Pacific coast. Currently I reside in high mountains and ponderosa pine forests with an awesome Turkish Van cat named Samwell, a persnickety cat named Eskimo, and one very busy guardian angel!
