Now both Wheaton and PTB attempt to use Erik as a pawn. Can he outwit the vying powers? Two women also hold his fate in their hands. His defense attorney, Kathryn Copeland, the one person he trusts, is also trapped in the subterfuge. But Wheaton’s wife, Lady Margaret, possesses an antique diary that contains information about the untold parts of Erik’s life, and she knows the truth.

All moves on this chess board are perilous. Standing trial would force Erik to face his painful past and possibly the rest of his life in prison.  But the verdict dictates not only his fate. If Erik is found guilty, Wheaton will be discredited and condemned. Then PTB can seize control of time travel and mankind will be sentenced to its own ominous fate.
